Test??? I am only a Freshman.

There is a transition phase in the first two weeks for every freshman, as a freshman you have just gone from a senior who knew all the ins and outs of their high school to a young-ling freshmen. Walking into a whole new dark cold mystical world called college – more specifically, TTU. Time doesn’t stop for anyone – it is what is happening every day as life goes tick tock. We are almost a month into when I first arrived on campus as a freshman. The only other time I was here was for orientation. Now three weeks later I have become so independent it is a miracle that I would not have ever imagined before.

Just as I made a turn in my college career, my first obstacle came – my first test. The big humongous enormous giant and other adjectives that enlarge the task every freshman has to face. The first test is the most important test that you will ever take. It has been just 3 months since freshmen graduated from high school and transitioned to being  college students. Not everyone has good study habits yet, so I will be offering some tips I have been given to become better at taking tests and studying.

  1. Always read the objectives you will be testing on or ask teacher. You don’t want to study something unnecessarily.
  2. Common tip: you should not try to cram a study session late at night; instead get a good night’s rest with an early morning session. As you will be refreshed and studying in the morning is better for the mind.
  3. Try to study a little each day and review old content to keep it reinforced in your mind.
  4. Find a new study partner, but try to not to get distracted.
  5. The most important go to office hours if you don’t understand anything. The professors want to help, but they can’t read our minds.

Also realize this you first test and not your last. You are still learning how to balance college life (or maybe you have it figured out). However, (for me) the first of everything is the most important I believe, because I will compare this memory of the first test to the last test of mine as a senior. As when you read a book the most important part is the beginning and the ending as you will reflect the progress you have made.

Am I right or am I right.(Figure 2.)

Sometimes you are wrong even when you are right, that is just life.
